The Columbus Zoo first opened in 1927 with a small collection of animals donated by the City of Columbus. Today, the Columbus Zoological Park Association governs the entire 580 acre complex that includes the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium, Zoombezi Bay Water Park and Safari Golf Club.
