Since 1942, LifeShare has operated blood centers to facilitate generous donors sharing the gift of life. Today, we provide blood components to medical facilities throughout Louisiana, east Texas and south Arkansas. Cutting edge work in rare blood trait identification has led to our leadership position in providing rare blood components to patients nationally and internationally. In 2019, LifeShare expanded to create two new divisions - LifeShare Tissue Services provides select tissue needs to customers, while LifeShare Cellular Services provides clinical and research expertise to develop material and treatments through a state-of-the-art cellular laboratory. In 2020, LifeShare continued to expand, establishing LifeShare Phlebotomy School and LifeShare Plasma Services.
LifeShare is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community blood bank governed by a volunteer Board of Trustees. We are a member of America's Blood Centers and the American Rare Donor Program, licensed by the U.S. Food & Drug Administration and accredited by AABB.
