WHAT YOU’LL DO:
• Observe and learn how to perform essential maintenance, including DOT mandated inspections on semi-truck and trailer bodies, systems, and components.
• Observe and learn how to perform routine preventive maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment, including but not limited to: lubrication and oil changes; seat repair; brake, wheel, tire, and battery services; belt, hose, headlight, and basic component replacement.
• Learn how to maintain recyclables, address fluid spills, and organize bulk storage of tires and barrels when needed.
• Learn where and how to dispense vehicle fuels and other essential fluids.
• Learn the fleet information system and how it operates.
• Observe and ride-along to learn road side repair from disabled vehicles in the field.
• Observe and learn how to do basic troubleshooting and diagnosis of mechanical/electrical problems.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO HAVE:
• 1 year of fleet repair experience is preferred
• Valid Driver’s License with acceptable driving record
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds
• Follow oral and written instructions
• Basic reading and writing skills
