Machine Maintenance Technician

M- F  8:15am - 4:15pm The incumbent is expected to be a self-starter, a good manager of time, work independently and follow DECI’s standards for safety and conduct. Visually inspect and test machines and equipment for proper functionality. Complete preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical equipment like motors, conveyors, production machines, pneumatic tools and engines, electrical systems and/or building systems. Maintain and make routine repairs to electrically powered equipment and appliances according to instruction from supervisor and/or equipment service manuals. Perform repairs on production machines and/or equipment when a malfunction has been detected. May discusses machine operation variations with supervisors or other maintenance workers to diagnose problem and repair the machine. Assist workers in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment. It is the role of the machine maintenance technician to identify sources of complications by observing mechanical devices while in operation and tune in for issues by utilizing accuracy and inspection instruments. Follows manufacturer’s instructions, engineering specifications, sketches, operation manuals, and diagrams, to diagnose and troubleshoot abnormalities. Identify causes of equipment malfunctions and plan resolutions. Maintain machinery, equipment, and tools by cleaning, lubricating, greasing, and/or oiling to ensure optimum working order. Develop, coordinate and track project list activities. Examine or carry out tasks on broken machine parts and identify defective parts or give recommendations to supervisors on repair requirements.
